During a brainstorm dinner hosted by the Consul-General with representatives and CEO’s from Dutch companies, the idea was born to create a website with all Dutch companies in Australia, or with companies that sell Dutch products or expertise.
King Willem-Alexander has appointed Bert Koenders as Minister of Foreign Affairs. Mr Koenders was sworn in by the King at Noordeinde Palace on Friday 17 October 2014.

3 December 2014 The Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Canberra welcomes project proposals for activities in Australia that strengthen the Netherlands’ political, economical and cultural profile. The Embassy also welcomes project proposals for initiatives in the field of Dutch-Australian heritage to be initiated in the lead up to and during the Dirk Hartog Year in 2016. The deadline for the application procedure is 1 March 2015.
3 December 2014 The current Netherlands Consulate in Melbourne will close its doors on the 1st of January 2015. This means that passport applications can no longer be submitted at this office in Market Street from the start of 2015. It is not yet known when a new honorary consul will be appointed for Melbourne. Please know that it will still be possible to submit passport applications in Melbourne on certain dates from January 2015.
