New Foreign Minister

King Willem-Alexander has appointed Bert Koenders as Minister of Foreign Affairs. Mr Koenders was sworn in by the King at Noordeinde Palace on Friday 17 October 2014.


Uiver 1934-2014

Uiver 80th anniversary

The Dutch Ambassador H.E. Mrs Annemieke Ruigrok has accepted appointment as Patron of the Uiver Memorial Community Trust. On 25 October 2014, the city of Albury in New South Wales will celebrate the 80th anniversary of the landing of the Uiver.

27 October 2014 The current Netherlands Consulate in Melbourne will close its doors on the 1st of January 2015. This means that passport applications can no longer be submitted at this office in Market Street from the start of 2015. It is not yet known when a new honorary consul will be appointed for Melbourne. Please know that it will still be possible to submit passport applications in Melbourne on certain dates from January 2015.

22 October 2014 Netherlands Prime Minister Mark Rutte will visit Prime Minister Najib Razak of Malaysia on November 5. After this visit, he will travel to Australia, where he will be received by Prime Minister Tony Abbott.
