18 August 2014 On Wednesday 13 August, the launch of the memoires of military veteran Paul Couvret took place at the National Library of Australia in Canberra. Couvret, probably the peninsula’s best-known Dutchman, passed away in 2013 aged 91 after living an extraordinary life. This publication, which will be available in both e-book and hardcopy, underlines the profound military history Australia and the Netherlands share. Therefore, the Netherlands Embassy in Canberra is a proud sponsor of this project.
4 August 2014 On July the 29th, a Dutch delegation led by Dr. Uri Rosenthal, special envoy for the 2015 International Conference on Cyberspace, was invited by the Netherlands’ Embassy to discuss cybersecurity at the Australian Strategic Policy Institute (ASPI) in Canberra. Dr. Rosenthal is a specialist in this field and his visit demonstrates the close bilateral cooperation Australia and the Netherlands keep in the field of cybersecurity.
