In the first half of 2016 the Netherlands will hold the Presidency of the European Union for the 12th time. The previous Dutch Presidency was in 2004. The EU Presidency meetings in the Netherlands will all take place at Amsterdam’s historical naval dockyard, the Marine Etablissement.
Australian Foreign Minister Julie Bishop and Netherlands Foreign Minister Frans Timmermans underscored the close relationship between their two countries by signing a Declaration of Intent establishing a Strategic Dialogue today in Canberra.

5 March 2014 Please be informed that the Embassy of the Netherlands in Canberra will be closed on Monday 10 March 2014 because of the celebration of Canberra Day.
21 February 2014 From 9 March 2014 the validity of the passport for persons who are 18 years and older will become 10 years. The implementation of the new passport makes it necessary to adjust systems and personalization machines to manufacture this new model. Following this implementation the possibilities for a passport application will be limited or suspended in the period from Monday 24 February until Monday 10 March 2014.
