Dutch-Australian Shared Cultural Heritage
Over 400 years of shared history
Dutch-Australian Shared Cultural Heritage: more than 400 years of shared history!
The Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Australia actively promotes Dutch-Australian Shared Cultural Heritage; material and immaterial relics from the past that the Netherlands shares with Australia. We believe that by sustainably conserving and highlighting Dutch-Australian cultural heritage, we can foster a reflection on our past and a mutual understanding of past, present and future. Our shared cultural heritage can help us to bridge the geographical distance between Australia and the Netherlands.
In recent decades, the Dutch government has committed itself to the sustainable conservation of Shared Cultural Heritage (SCH). The policy focuses on ten partner countries, of which Australia is one.
