Winners of the World Solar Challenge at the Dutch Embassy!
The Dutch winners of this year’s World Solar Challenge (WSC) are coming to Canberra! On Friday 18 October the solar cars will be on display at the Embassy’s premises. The display of the solar vehicles coincides with the sneak preview of the new energy neutral embassy building with rooftop solar panels.
Come and congratulate the teams, see the solar cars and the new embassy building up close, visit the information stalls and learn more about sustainable energy while enjoying the delights of Dutch snacks.
This event is part of Canberra 100’s Windows to the World (open embassy days) and is also part of Spin: Canberra'sWeekends on Wheels.

From 6 until 13 October, the WSC took place in Australia, taking the cars from Darwin to Adelaide. This 3000 km competition for solar powered vehicles is organized biannually. This year three Dutch teams representing the Universities of Delft, Eindhoven and Twente participated. Team Delft finished first in the Challenger Class and team Eindhoven came first in the Cruiser Class. Both teams are coming to Canberra. The team from Twente came third in the Challenger Class.
